I'll accept up to 6 more playtesters for an even 30 for now. Playtesters will be expected to actively participate or their access to the playtest area and files will be removed and new playtesters selected to replace them.

We are looking into allowing a larger playtest through the upcoming launch of our Pegasus ezine, and possibly through pre-orders.

My group would alo like to be a playtest group. We have playtested for GURPS, Mayfair games, Nova Games, etc. Please include me as one of the last 6.

I'd like my group to playtest too please, if a slot is still available. The group is familiar with the current D20 Systems (D&D and Star Wars) and the GM (me...) is familiar with Classic and MegaTraveller among others.

You may consider me sir. Nevertheless, we must keep this in mind and decide if we are a good fit for each other. I cannot be tied to any rule system, I have played them all, and I have played Traveller with no rule system beyond collective story telling 'round a table.

What I care about, what I would participate in, is the work you are doing on the Traveller universe. I would be happy to read and provide feedback for your development of the region of space and the period Marc has given you. I will run a game there too.

I have no desire however to create characters or examine game mechanics. Perhaps I could be convinced to do so but why try.

If you need and old curmudgeon like myself and find the above less than repugnant then please allow me past your gate of exclusivity. If on the other hand I do not fit your bill, fear not. I will not be disheartened by the rejection nor would I applaud your efforts any less.

Traveller IS the universe that grew up after its creation, not a set of rules.

Oh, and I must add.

Gearheading,
World building,

I guess there are rules I'd play with like a cat plays with a mouse (worlds) or bird (gears) :)

ROFL! I gotta let you in just for this post! There is not a whole lot in on the setting itself yet, but it is forthcoming. Some of the setting material can be found on the T20 Website.

Be glad to have you on board. We need *canon* advisors as much as we need the mechanics tested.

Gallandro and Chris Henry, I will be adding you to the Playtest also, thanks for the help!

Still a couple spots left if anyone else is interested.

Hunter,
I had the chance to play in a CT game with Mark Miller at a CON many a year ago I would be thrilled to be part of the playtest group.

I have been doing RPG's since 1979 and have played/ read/ devoured all types of games.

I am currently GMing a group that has memebers who's ages run from 13 to 35.

We are currently playing D&D 3rd edition. We have in the past played CT/ MT/ TNE, Twilight 2000 and know all the systems fairly well.

Please let me know asap

I'm more of a recent Traveller convert, having been sucked in by GT. Still i've been following the development with quite a bit of interest. If there's any room left, I'd like to be considered as a playtester for T20.

I see you have set up a lot of message areas for many things for the playtesters. I do hope that you will bring out to an open area some non-secretive
smile.gif
things for the rest of us to discuss if you all have troubles deciding something.

I'm the opposite of n2s: Traveller is a sfrpg, not a setting. The official setting is good, but it is not necessary for Traveller. I'm also a world-builder & gearhead so if need another tester for that, and to counterpoint n2s, then sign me up.

- Another "old curmudgeon" since '78 :p

Hi Hunter,

I would also like to join the playtesting team. Last Monday I finished a D&D campaign and T20 would fit nicely in the schedulle for next week.

Some data about my style. I play RPGs since 1982, including a lot of Traveller. Although I do science and mathematics as a living, I am completely against a complex gearhead style -- in fact, I believe that simplicity is the key to the long standing sucess of the LBB. Finally, I think that a Brazilian playtesting team might come with some unusual insights in the game.

Best wishes,
Ron

I assume that the advertised playtest slots are full by now, and I'm probably not the ideal T^20 playtester anyhow (seeing as how I both don't have an active gaming group and don't own (or have any intention of picking up) the D&D3 rules), but I have passing-fair skills as a kibbitzer, troubleshooter, and constructive critic on Traveller-in-general issues (which, from the titles of some of the Playtest Forums, it looks like you may have some use for) and I'll be happy to step in when/if any of your current batch of 'testers begin flaking out.

Like others I thought it would be a little more formal than "me too"

I have a group that is interested in being playtesters if there are any openings.

"Me Too!", as regards the various excuses or not applying earlier...

If there are any slots for playtesters left, I'd much like to be considered for one. I can offer:
a) a somewhat active (i.e., we play triweekly) gaming group who's played D&DIII, MT, TNE, T4, GT, "Runes in Space" (a melding of RQ, CT, and Other Suns that we played back in the early 1980s), and several other (non-Traveller related) RPGs, with players ranging from technophobes to gearheads,
b) reasonable editorial, proofreading, and critical skills (I do
this at work and for a magazine), and
c) a love of and desire for the success of Traveller - in whatever its
incarnation - that goes back to the late 1970s, when I first read the LBBs...

If the group's full, please keep me and mine in mind in case any openings occur.

Hi, Hunter. I'm working with my husband, who goes by Tanuki here. I'm a freelance writer, I've done proofreading professionally, and I've played Traveller. I'd like to get in to the playtest. I can proofread the rules as I read them. You could probably think of Tanuki and me as one playtester, if you'd like.

I'm interestde in Playtesting, if there are any spaces left. Started with CT in the early 8o's, then skipped straight to T4 and GT, member of BITS and playtester of 3e.

Like I said by posting a new topic by mistake, my group would be good to playtest D20 since they have never played Traveller in any incarnation and would be a good sounding board for how the game would go over with the unwashed. And I mean it, they really DO NOT WASH.
And I still promise not to cry...

Hi Hunter,

I would love to playtest T20. I have been a Traveller referee since 1982 and have only played Classic Traveller. I have also refereed Gamma World, Champions, and D6 and D20 Star Wars and play 3rd Ed. D&D.

When I switched over to D20 Star Wars, I had a lot of reservations about the "D&Ding" of Star Wars. Our game has not turned out like that at all. We find that the D20 system applies just as well as the D6 system.

Not too long ago, I started toying with the idea of porting Traveller to D20. I realized that I didn't have the time for that big of a venture. When I found the post that you were doing it, I knew I had to get involved.

Please let me know when a playtesting spot opens up.

Thank you.
