Population: 1 Trillion

I don't have my book with me. But I seem to remember a population of 1 trillion not approachable in the Mongoose world generator. Though it's listed in the population chart. Was there a tech level requirement in an advanced/alternate rule to allow for a trillion people? At what tech would that be? And what would that look like, getting food to that many people. And don't tell me there's another trillion on the same world that are bread just for eating, even though that would be cool.

Just curious about the tech level that would be involved.

No TL requirement per se - but a +4 DM (which could be totally offset by an X Starport or partially by Gov DM).

I think the entry on the table was to be compatible with prior published material and/or potentially T5 at the time.

Trillion is Pop C. (10^12). It's there for people's ATU's.

Mine allows a DM+2 for Thin, Std, or Dense atmosphere, temperate world, and 50-80% hydro. But it also imposes a -2 for outside the ecosphere, Vacuum, Trace or Very thin atmosphere, or 0 hydro.

That makes sense. Otherwise, Earth-like worlds are mostly populated by 10 - 100 thousand people, with billion being rare.

I do like the idea of millions of people living in a vacuum. Forced underground to live, according to what my imagination comes up with to explain it to players. Usually the tech is high for those worlds.
