Published Adventures

I see a lot of talk about what great fun the published adventures are but from all the ones I’ve run for other game systems are mostly terrible and the pc’s are just blocks of stats rolling dice which as both a player and GM I find boring. Are the Traveller adventures any better or worse or is that just a limitation of the “module” medium?

One of my personal favourites is Beltstrike, but I would recommend either of our free 'epic' campaigns - Secrets of the Ancients or The Pirates of Drinax. Not your stand runofthemill dice rolling adventures!

I never run premade adventures as I like to write my own. I do like to purchase premade adventures for ideas from other authors to mix up in my ideas.

Spend $20 on a JTAS subscription if you haven't already. By my count there are 111 Amber Zones (full adventures) and 91 Short Adventures. Plus I know there are others filed under different headings :) Most of them are good, some of them (I'd recommend anything by Hans Rancke-Madsen, Chris Thrash or Mark Gellis) especially so.

Alternately head on over to Freelance Traveller (the URL escapes me at the moment) which is free and jam packed with crunchy traveller goodness :D
