Purchasing property

There are some fairly comprehensive property-purchase rules in Dilettante. They're primarily intended for things like mansions and penthouse apartments/suites, but there's no reason they can't be used for other forms of property - I've used them, for example, to price out a rental (apartment) property.

You've probably already thought of this, but the whole purchasing property thing is just screaming PLOT HOOK!! at me in bold caps.

"Just look at these prices... ridiculous..."

"Wait, what's THAT one? Says they're in a hurry to sell... hey that's a great price! Let's take a look!"

i didnt even think to check dilettante, as its sat on a shelf gathering dust. not a single player went for it to generate a character.

Oh yes completely :p

Traveller 2300 also has some good lists of items that are useful on a property. Can't remember if they have prices but it is a good list for colonies etc.

i had a look in dilettente and was fairly unimpressed. the system just isnt robust enough for what i wanted.

I only have the classic version of 2300 so no joy for me there. im happy enough with the spreadsheet. maybe some value tweaks to the trade codes.
