random encounters reaction table

On the table for rolling random encounters. At the very bottom of the page, it mentions,".. a determination of attitude is made using the reaction table (later in this section)..". Where is it? I have a reaction table from previous versions and there are options in the core books, but I'd like to know which is official for T20.

There is a table for it on the T20 Referee's Quick Reference Card, part of the Referee Screen. (Interior of that card bottom right.) But I don't see it in either the THB or the TGP Playtest files. I didn't do an exhaustive look, but it isn't where it would normally be expected.

If you are going to use one from a core book or from previous versions, I would recommend picking one that suits your play style and staying consistent.

I really should check out the contents of the screen more closely, instead of just hiding my notes and dice throws with it!
Cheers Bhoins.

The Screen should be revised with the TGP and incorporate a few items from TA1. There are a few key weapons missing from the Main screen. (Gauss Pistol, Gauss Sniper Rifle, Light TAC launcher, a few shotguns, and Flame Throwers come immediately to mind.

Sometimes an encounter with a Pirate is really a Merchant Encounter. Sometimes pirates want to sell some of the loot they stole rather than steal more. Some good prices can be had from pirates.

A guy with an eye patch comes up to you and says, "Hey bud! I hear your looking to buy a starship, well today's your lucky day."
The trick is to encounter pirates when their getting ready to sell rather than to steal. Pirates don't mind selling below cost, if they are interested in getting rid of a hot item as quickly as possible. A character sho doesn't have enough money to properly buy a starship might get one from a pirate at 20% of the purchase price, since the pirate might not want to hold onto it for too long. The pirate is interested in some fast cash, he may have another starship and might not be able to fly both at once. So the PCs get a good deal on a starship.

Later on when they encounter the pirate again, he may wish to steal it back, but most likely not, another pirate might however.
