Randomly generated world Library Data?

Flynn

SOC-14 1K
Good afternoon, All,

Has anyone ever created a software application that randomly generated library data based on a world's UWP? I'm not even asking about reading a whole sector's worth of UWPs and generating library data for each world, but just a library data entry for one world?

More a curiosity thing than anything else,
Flynn

What, like the old Elite game? Something that just randomly connects phrases like "(World) is inhabitabed by (short description of alien race) rule by a (random government type). The most unusual feature is (random weird thing)."?

Yeah, that's it. It'd generate the basic building blocks to stimulate the imaginations of Refs with Referee Block, that kind of thing. ;)

I was looking through Grand Survey last night for another project. It looks like it has the requisite tables to generate the stuff you need. I haven't yet tried to write software to generate text for this, but...

I think it would be interesting to see what you come up with, my friend.

Please let us know if you need any input,
Flynn

I've found a Mad Lib generator program which will generate random sentences (or paragraphs) from a template and a set of data. It requires Python, but should be very simple to organize. If you are really hot to get something like this together, this may work better than waiting for me to get around to writing you some software.
