General Rappelling Tripod?

I'm watching a 'Making of ALIEN' video on YouTube. And when Kane rappels down to the Egg Chamber, they use some kind of tripod or something. I'm not sure what to call it.

Would anyone know what that would translate into for Traveller equipment?

I've wondered if this is how to best get into the pyramid in Shadows. It's better than going in by hand/rope.

Tripod, rope(s), harness(es), descender(s). Or tripod with powered winch cable.

They don't explain it in the adventure. It just says 'cables'. I guess you roll your Spelunking skill?
