Hi all got here via a youtube video, played traveller many decades ago, fancy revisiting it what advice can you give regarding getting hold of some of the original material, I have of course looked on e-bay!
If it's the old Classic Traveller you're after, or even some of the later ones (MegaTraveller or Traveller: The New Era) you should check out Marc Miller's site:
There's some reprints of the classics as well as the mother of all bargains, CD/DVD roms busting with pdfs of the material for about $35 each. The whole of CT on one CD rom for $35! And its pretty well done, even better now with the latest update I understand.
If you want to see the latest newest treatment of the olde game then you should pop over to Mongoose Publishing:

The CDs are probably great if you can read stuff on computer screens, and for printing out maps etc - but me I cant read a thing on computers, I prefer books. I might get the CDs as a reference tool at some point as they are very extensive and it would cost a fortune to get all that stuff in books (not to mention the space required).
IMO Mongoose Traveller is not great - the graphics are rubbish, the books are full of mistakes (including a couple of books in which the whole concept was just not thought about at all) and they don't feel like the old books either - far too high-tech orientated. And not only that they are very confusing as there are so many rules in Mongoose Traveller. Did my head in. The only good thing about Mongoose Traveller is that it has got many people back into Traveller who had forgotten all about it, plus lots of new players as well I am sure. Many of the Mongoose products are even just rip-offs of the original books albeit not half as nicely done (Library Data for example).
There are the reprints of the Classic Books which are large books containing reprints of all the little black books in about six sets, but again I found those rather unwieldy and they didnt give me the buzz of using the original books. Not only that but some of them - the double adventure in particular, are printed all over the place and make reading them a nightmare.
So if you are actually trying to get back into the Classic Traveller you loved earlier in your life, as I found, you cannot actually beat start getting the little black books again. And for classic books you cant beat Ebay, especially US Ebay. It often has superb copies of the original box set as well as most of the other books. It wont take you long to get them but it will be a littel expensive as the books are generally going for around £5 each except for rare occasions. But this is what I did after I really regretted selling my original set of books ages ago and I dont regret buying them again. And in fact many of the books Ive got now are better quality than the ones I got rid of and several of them I didnt have before. So Ebay is great.

I have also printed my own LBBs from the CD using a PDF booklet post-processor and an appropriate stapler. Before I bought the special stapler I'd open a regular stapler up, place the staples, then bend them over with needle-nose pliers.
