Review of TA #9 Solomani Ships

Short answer: YES!

The Sollie ships and tactics are "Imperial" enough to fit the concept yet different enough to make them "Solomanie". The ships range from "background" (200.000+ dton Battlecruisers) to "player useable". Each has some basic fluff to make it come alive and the example battles given are a nice way to show the "Solomanie way".

As I had previously posted. My only concern was with the "black on Black" images. and the quality of a print version.
I printed a "print" version (without borders) and as I feared the pictures were somewhat hard to see on some images. Also the large amount of black ink on the leading edge wetted the paper and led to crinkling and gumming on the printing of the reverse side.

That being said, the background for the solomani navy and the rim war information was excellent.

I'd rate this product fairly high.

Thank you very much for your input Hugoguzman. That's just the type of review I was looking for.

Gents,

Look upon the new face of online advertising...

"foftegionsive" is a soft-sell ad bot. It scans active and recently active threads looking for partial matches to it's phrase "cloud" and then posts a non-sequitor somewhat disguised as a response containing certain words and phrases. Those words and phrases are the "hook".

For example, the post I've quoted is supposed to make you google "Hugo Guzman" and "his" allegedly "personal" blog which also sells and provides links to all sorts of stuff.

Members of a certain age will remember an early computer program called "Lisa". It emulated personal conversation back in the old "Type & Tractor Paper" days by using stock phrases from a large data base interspersed with words culled from your input. "foftegionsive" is Lisa's direct descendant.

Thanks to the increasing use and sophistication of ad-bots, many fora are combating this and other trends by instituting "Prove You Are Human" hurdles for joining and posting. You've all seen them, you need to decipher a morphed series of letters or perform simple arithmetic.

Whether such options exists for COTI or can be added easily is another question entirely.

Regards,
Bill

I think you're right Bill. I had my suspicions from the start, and it's all adding up to stealth spam. Thanks for the nudge.

I've been asking, but not heard a definitive from Hunter yet.
