Seeking players for online voice-chat game

I'm new to Traveller, but have been a GM/DM/Narrator, etc. for 20 odd years and have gamed through online voice chat successfully with people throughout the world.

The medium will be SKYPE (the free voice conferencing program)

Players will need a headset with mike (9 bucks or so at Wallyworld)

The times will be either Monday or Thursday nights week days, or on alternating weekends.

So far I have two interested players from the U.S. -I'm in Canada- and can accept up to four more.

In terms of character creation, anything goes, although the adventure will entail starship travel, exploration of new planets, and some 'Fireflyish' elements.

I can make it this Thursday, but I may need to keep it short, as we have a lot of relatives coming in.

I'd like to start generating a character offline, unless you need to witness die rolls or whatever, preferably a scout or miner, or some kind of physics guru / astronomer, or some merchant type. Depends on how it rolls out, of course. Officer equivalent or enlisted it doesn't matter to me.

I'm definitely up for an exploration style game, travelling, pretty jazzed here.

If none of those suffice I'll fill in whatever is needed. Definitely don't want to play a marine / army type, unless that's all that's left after semi /group concensus as to who has what roles.

I need to look through the books over the next few hours unless you have pregens?

Should I post proposed PC here inline?

This should be cool, a whole new spin on it. I'm going in eyes open.

I'm not a slave to canon, my own setting uses traveler rules but a way different setting, timeline, backstory and feel.

Is your group full, or looking for players still?? I've only played traveller once, about 12 years ago, but would love to play. I would find a group to join around here, but I just moved here 4 months ago and don't know any players. Also this town has a population of 1,165, so it doesn't look promising to find one either. I am disabled, so I am always home (except when I am at the hospital) and can play anytime. Either way, thanks, Mike
