The Series 3 GAMBT, or “Gambit” as it is commonly known, is the Sidur Haski Defense Force’s main ground combat machine. It is a fast, heavily armored weapon system, capable of filling many battlefield roles, including that of personnel deployment.
In lieu of turrets, the Gambit uses heavy manipulator arms, upgraded versions of the type in industrial use on Sidur Haski, to support its primary weaponry. Each gunner crewperson uses a brace-like arm control that emulates the operator’s movement. The heavy lasers (HLW Mk 4) on each arm are housed in special armored ram ports that can be closed and used as bludgeoning weapons against static targets and defenses, as well as enemy ground troops with devastating effect.
An added advantage of the Gambit is its Model 134 LFRCA brain, which enables the machine to fight on its own with no crew, if given specific orders from an exterior control source. This allows for minimal crew involvement during tedious long deployments, enabling the machine to deploy, go to the target area, and then turn control over to the crew, leaving the crew fresh for battle.
Gambits are produced and stored on Sidur Haski, and would only be deployed in dire circumstances, such a ground invasion. This would be a dire situation indeed, as it would assume that the entire Defense Network had been neutralized.
More commonly, the Gambit is issued to the Sidur Haski Outsystem Patrol Service (SHOPS) for use on other systems that require hired mercenaries to achieve a their goals. Each of the 1000-ton Hoplite Class Mercenary Cruisers berths three Gambits.
The Gambit is a fine crafted, highly effective, and easy to operate item of military hardware. It has only been used in light military operations since its initial construction in 1100. Imperial Requisition Agents have attended several exhibitions of it, but there have yet to be any plans to export the design.

Once more Baron, bravo, most impressive. I really like the alternative weaponry mounting. Not quite a mech (which is imo a good thing in Traveller) and yet not your standard tank either (again a good thing). And then to top it off the wonderful name from the initials, a very nice package

Perhaps I'm just not seeing it, but what is the actual vl number for this? And for the Sky Razor?

I see the Size as Huge, but I'm wondering where exactly in the Huge range it falls...
