Should Freelance Traveller expand our coverage?

We've had a couple of people offer us articles that don't properly fit within our Traveller remit. We've also printed reviews of a few non-Traveller products, because we thought our readers might have been interested in mining those products for their Traveller campaign. So, we're looking at the possibility of a cautious expansion beyond pure Traveller, into what might be called 'close cousins'. Hence the poll - please tell us what you think!

I know it is hard to stick with Traveller but that is how my vote went. I would add a qualifier, if people want to use the Traveller rules and do a Renegade Legion or another game but powered by Traveller (even if it is Traveller-lite) - please do. I find FT an invaluable Traveller resource spreading oneself across different games will dilute content and cause me to turn away from it.

Just Traveller .... does that include
the various Mongoose settings eg Hammers Slammers, Judge Dread ?
the other settings starting to appear based on the mongoose traveller rules that dont have any direct connection to the 3rd imperium ?
twilight 2000 or the remake ?
(Traveller) 2300AD, the 2320 remake or the upcoming mongoose editions ?

My vote would be to stick to the mainstream planet hopping type Traveller versions with maybe a couple page article every issue or 3 for the other options I've listed

Having reviews of traveller convertable "ideas" stuff is always good eg non shirtsleeve worlds or societies & governments but I probably wouldnt be interested in reviews of the core of other Sci-Fi RPGs

Agreed. But, if it is to be some system - let it be close to Universal as possible. ie Tasks there but no system to resolve them, stats present not in GT form, etc.

Traveller is so very big it just barely fits into one forum as it is. Adding more would likely pop the buttons off the machine.

I voted just Traveller. But if you are getting a lot of good material for other stuff, maybe the time has come for a Freelance Sci-Fi.

Maybe try to add a bit of other types of games rather than have everything be RPG related. Try a strategy game column. Do bits about various sci fi stagey games like some of the traveller games and star fleet battles etc.

I voted for sticking with Traveller. There is plenty that can be discussed and mulled over in the Travellerverse without mucking it up with other 'verses.

I'll point out that the license options don't appear to include any fan-stuff for non-OTU settings done by Mongoose.

I'm voting for Just Traveller. I've adjusted some of the stuff for another game, but your writing style makes that easy. Good ideas work with any universe with a little effort. Stick to Traveller, maintain your focus, let us do the hard stuff.
