Some alternative launch deckplans

Hi all

Needed a launch with a slightly different profile to the standard Traveller Launches I posted the other day.

Full scale plans are over at the Woolshed Small Ship Construction Array.

Really like them, reminds me of the Hunter's Launch from the Animal class Safari ship.

Miss the side cargo door, but the rear door does make more sense.

I decided to put an airlock on each side rather than a single lock and a side cargo door. I offset the engines slightly to give more room the back.

I like these. I always had a problem with the lack of efficiency in the cylindrical designs. They would be great for bulk cargo (e.g., liquids), but putting the squarish cargo container into the tubular space....

So I designed my own small craft based on rectangular shapes, but even with advanced materials and the like, the frustrated engineer in me kept wincing at the almost-square angles: your design is an elegant compromise. Good stuff.

Nice job Brian ! The rear entry allows more flexibility for how the launch is berthed, I'm an advocate for docking 'slips' which allow a small craft to be 'snuggled-in' to a larger ship without the outlay and waste of a dedicated hanger.
