Agreed. The Sword Worlds book contains a detailed and internally consistent setting that's suitable for just about any type of campaign. There are enough adventure hooks in it to last for years.
IMHO, Traveller has rarely been this playable before.
It's bloody great. As far as I can see, the only drawback is that it wasn't longer
- it's got enough detail to provide a detailed campaign background for any Traveller game (not just GURPS) and it's very well written. Every Traveller book should be this good.
(I may have a slightly biased viewpoint since I helped design the physical details for the planets - sometimes I'm amazed I came up with stuff that worked, given the UWPs and stellar data we had to work from. But I didn't have a hand in the rest of the book, and I know Paul et al. put a lot of effort in to make it as consistent with earlier canon as possible)
