Space Opry

So I keep reading those TV Tropes (yeah, thanks alot Easterner9504 :) ) and I keep seeing the term Space Western applied to Firefly. Now I thought about this and I think with the comedy/slapstik and the Robin Hood-ish stories Firefly could be termed Space Opry. An offshoot of the Space Western combined with the Grand Ole Opry.

Here's a quote:

the Opry showcases a mix of legends and contemporary chart-toppers performing country, bluegrass, folk, gospel, and comedic performances and skits.

Kinda like the mix of everything in Firefly.

Space Western (and Space Opera) just seems too serious, to me anyway.

Space Opry just sounds more fitting.

What do you think?

lol

Just spent too much time at tvtropes as well, I have to laugh at the "proud warrior race" trope because I have seen that very expression written in some descriptions of planets, aliens, etc. .

Space Opry makes me think of a musical...

Think Oklahoma and State Fair combined, but set in space.

Rodgers and Hammerstein songs...

"Our Far Trader is a great Far Trader..."

Let 'em come... hillbillies are fond of their shotguns and pitchforks... shredded pork with that BBQ sauce, anyone?

Hmmm... moonshine would have a more literal meaning...

The glisten of sweat upon a bared buttocks, yes?
