Speaking of hits from the past (or misses), I stumbled across a website for SPI's Universe RPG. Brought back some memories. Never played it though because at the time it appeared to have the usual SPI lengthy lawyer tomb for a rules framework. But it does have a rich and interesting environment that some folks might want to "borrow" some parts from for their own Traveller universe (excuse the pun). :D

and when you run a search on the word "SPI Universe" you will find some 6,000 hits. Wow! Not only that, but the game is still alive and well with new products available and everything. The above site was last updated 3-13-2003.

It seems to have lots of down loads. could make for some interesting background material.
 
I removed the link. As far as I can tell this is nothing but piracy of copyrighted material. None of the disclaimers on the site note any authority to post the material they have. This goes WAY beyond fair use.

Please do not post links to such sites in the future.
