Are star Wars Characters actually human or are they just a "minor" sub race or species??...is it true that the "Ancients" missed them or just forgot about them??....OR are they an Uplift exeperiment that went wrong???...Should the TRAVELLER UNIVERSE declaire War on the STAR WARS UNIVERSE???

Should we even use them in Traveller???...

I wouldn't suggest it otherwise the game will likely devolve into a Star Wars style game. :(

Interesting idea. Sort of like the Marvel vs. DC Comics from a few years back.

Since they both have d20 rules, it should be fairly easy.

All attacking parties use their normal combat status as defined by their respective rules. (Traveller character attacks SW with normal T20 attack and damage, vise versa for the SW character). May the Force be with the SW guys..they will need it!

I don't see using SW characters as much of a problem PROVIDED that they CONFORM to the Traveller Universe. Thus, if your one of those pathetic Jedi loving persons, you'll probably be with the Ine Givar and being chased by the whole Imperial Navy...

I've done this with characters from other genres; borrowed a couple npc types from Gundam Wing, just put them in charge of patrol cruiser and a close escort instead of a Gundam Mecha.

Trav and SW fight: naw, no big deal.

Now, if William Shatner came in, and started a dramatic interpretation of Master Ozzie's Crazy Train, that might be different

If you have to use that setting to rope in some more players I guess it would work. Personally I have a hard enough time using psionic powers in my games. It is almost like having "magic" within a game that otherwise appears to follow the "normal" laws of the universe.

Yea, I know. Take your game to the other side of the Imperium, far from the Zhodani, and the aspect of psionics goes away.

Guess I'm just too old school I guess. Maybe I am intolerant of the Zhodani? Could that be it?

Me? My campaign is in the area that borders both the Zhodani and the Vargr. On the side away from the Spinward Marches. :D

lol - What about a hybrid T20/StarWars/D&D/Cthulhu/Judge Dredd game?

Now THAT could be fun... but not for the GM trying to keep track of it.

Personally I'd love to do a Traveller/Cthulhu cross-over campaign!

Don't forget Traveller/Star Wars/Deadlands/Swahsbuckling advetnures...

So you can have your PC's swinging from ship to ship in combat...

I think it has a lot of potential too. Imagine an alternative universe where humans discover Jump and move out to the nearby stars, setting up colonies and the like.
Then the stars come right, and all life on Earth gets wiped out or enslaved by Cthulhu and his buddies.
That leaves humanity hiding out in scattered hidden colonies, being hunted by evil mythos creatures and the human traitors who serve them...
Describe the enemy's more "magical" powers as the result of wierd tech and you're ready to go.

Bhyakee (or however you spell it), for example, are described as having an organ called the hune which allows them to travel between the stars. Sounds like an organic/psionic J-Drive/M-Drive combination.

I'll see if I can find the notes I did for a nasty campaign many years ago. The old gods were beings of imense power who live in an alternate dimension that exists partialy within the void of jump space. The old races fled across jump space and into this realm of existance. Those beings that "lived beyond" were native to jump space and could pop through when summoned or under other special circumstances. Beings like the hounds lived within jump space itself.

The vast majority of ships are fine, only a badly tuned jump drive would allow such creatures entry to the ship and of course such an out of frequency drive generates a disruption of jump space which alerts the beings to its presence.

Nothing like spending the whole jump in full armour with guards posted and being happy to emerge from jump to real space where its safer

Why does madness come to those who look too closely into the grey mists of jump space. They see the the void looking back.
