STAT THAT SHIP! PART 6

Another vessel from the Terran Praesidium setting...The D'Kelva Seeking Ship

a nasty little customer, the D'Klelva seeking ship is a vessel used in scouting as well as strike missions. Fast, agile and well equipped with stealthing shimmerskin technologies, it is capable of cloaking and is black globe equipped.

Also, like all D'Kelva vessels it maikes use of plasma flield technology and is capable of limited "morphing", changing its configuration while the core components remain at the same base volume. In the current mode, it is in spaceflight mode, while in atmospheric mode it will extrude control surfaces.

200 Dtons, +/- 10 percent,TL 18

I understand why the primary military doctrine when facing dekes is a combination of running away and praying now.

T20 at least has some rules for ships past TL15, but it gets awful patchy.

That said, I was going to have a stab at it, but a lot of it is going to have to be ... creative.

Yep, like veltyen says be creative, i.e. make it up

Or if you can find the MT Referee's Manual it did have design elements all the way up the tech tree to somewhere around TL21 iirc

TL18:
antimatter power plant
jump fuel reduced to 6% of hull volume required per jump number
matter transport portals
disintegrator turret weapons
coherent superdense armour

TPN Classified Report:
D'Kelva vessel: Seeking Ship Class

We haven't been able to gain much information on the D'Kelva ships. From what we understand they have some technologies that we are only to guess on. What is known is that we can only see there ships when they want us too, or very rarely when they don't notice us first.

D'Kelva ship hulls seem surprisingly fluid. It has been noted that they can change aspect quite quickly, the hull appearing to flow into a new shape. At least three forms have been seen, and cosmetic changes between ships suggest that these forms are not set, or if they are each individual ship is unique. Of the forms spotted, one was optimised for hypersonic travel, the others for slower atmospheric flight and free space travel. At very slow speeds the ship has been seen to flap, in the opinion of one witness "like a large manta ray".

Drives
Performance of around 10G has been calculated from long range scans. No emission other then faint light was observed from the drives. We suspect when the ships disappear they cowl their drives with their hull.

Our current best guess is that they use tachyon emission for real space propulsion.

The faster then light signature is similar to that of our own ships and we suspect they use a similar drive. No fuel tank has been noted however, though ships have been seen lurking in the upper reaches of gas giants.

Weaponry
Our current guess is that the beam mounted weapon that has been seen on their ship is some kind of high energy laser, similar to what we can build, but utilising far more energy. No use of matter projectiles has been seen, this would correlate closely with assumptions derived from how the D'Kelva engage on the ground.

Current Guesses on technical effects

X Ray Pulse Laser
TL18. USP (as beam laser +1)
Energy 5EP
Damage d12+d6 Radiation per USP
Range 60,000 km

Tachyon Drive
Performance approximately double that of normal drives

Plasma Feild Adaptive Armor
Adjust frame for flight
Regenerate damage (1 SI per EP expended)
Acts as Jump buffer, no jump fuel required, hull erodes instead, which can then be regenerated.
Cloaking (+20 to sensor checks)
Otherwise as TL15 class armour.
