The Beyond Sector: What is Cannon?

The Traveller Map site has (or has had) at least four different versions of the Beyond Sector. Which one is considered Cannon? (And if it depends on which rules system one uses, then the Mongoose version)
This is reaching a level beyond ridiculousness. Pick z version and Stick with it!

If there are multiple versions of Far Frontiers & Vangard Reach as well, which of these are considered Cannon? (I assume that Foreven is still considered a GM preserve?)

Umm I don't think that you are going to get that stability.

The Beyond Sector, Vangard Reaches, Far Frontiers, Theta Borealis and others were made by early licensees during CT days in the early '80s. Each were very creative, but have problems in terms of how the OTU looks and works NOW. An example for The Beyond are the references to an IMPERIAL X-Boat route and an private Imperial resort/reserve world set aside for the Imperial family! Vangard Reaches has a dangerous 7-hex nebula in Subsector M and a Dyson sphere!
(I like these two sectors, a lot btw.)

As time has gone on, these have have been massaged to fit the "improved definition" of the OTU. The Judge's Guild sectors were wholly replaced with Traveller20. My contribution was requesting the reintroduction of the Vangard nebula because travellermap was now using The Great Rift product and found some way to show the navigation hazards.

I Think, if changes were made again, it was in response to new Mongoose products. In this case, there is a new product The Glorious Empire which deals with a VERY non-traditional Aslan Empire. I dont have it, yet. The Beyond and Vangard has one of those non-trad Aslan Empires, the leader (singular) is a "Pasha". So mebbe? I will have to look in

The current version of the Beyond and Vanguard Reaches in the main Traveller Map map is the canon. It will be subject of a forthcoming Mongoose Traveller book.

In addition to the wild and wooly technical issues (A dyson Sphere! A ringworld!, Several TL-17+ worlds!) there were a number of questionable political issues (e.g. Die Weltbund, everything is better with Space Nazis) that needed to be addressed.

For those keeping track at home the four versions of the Beyond are:
1) The original Paranoia Press 1981 publication.
2) The 1991 web update by Donald Rapp to move everything MT / current standards. The original text was largely untouched, just an update to the UWPs.
3) A update done by Don McKinney as part of the T5SS rules. This addressed some of the technical issues (e.g. the Ringworld) without touching any of the underlying political points.
4) The current version is a wide ranging update done by Geir Lanesskog, who is the author of the Forthcoming Mongoose Book. You can review the changes in Geir's Blog

Look, I don't want to be that guy, but I'm gonna be that guy cause it's driving me to distraction- can we PLEASE start using the correct spelling canon for these discussions?

Nope--'cause we have a certain resemblance to loose cannons . . .
