General Traveller: The Lost Prince

SOC-12

I’ve been running a series for a bit. One of the players got a scout ship that we made a J-3, 300ton “Long Scout”.

We are in the Spinward Frontier (Regina/Jewell) area. It’s 1120 and the crew is starting to really see “Hard Times”. One of the players got absolutely hosed in character creation and ended up a two term Belter with retrograde amnesia. The Scout, Marine, and Corporate security operative are pretty average 4 and 5 term characters.

Here’s my quandary: I think the Belter is actually a Psion. He was a Zhodani noble who was captured and tortured by Imperium Intelligence.
The crew just rescued a Zhodani merchant and his two daughters, plus three other crewmen who misjumped from Efate into an empty hex near Louzy. The crew learned this from the robot that was found onboard. The survivors are in cold sleep pods, and are transporting them to Farreach in hopes of a reward.
The Belter has been hearing things and having nightmares. The players feel a sense of responsibility because they found him just kind of drifting through life and are trying to help.

I think the Zhodani merchant and “family” are actually intelligence assets (haven’t decided whether they’re Imperium or Zhodani).

Here’s my ideas so far:
Proximity to other Psions is going to start triggering the Belter.
The Scout is going to be approached by the Imperium consulate to smuggle information back to Imperium Intelligence.
The Corporate is approached by a patron asking for help with an assassination of a local crime boss.
The Marine is going to be approached by one of the “daughters” in a romantic relationship and help escaping her “family”.

But I need our ideas for either blending certain of these ideas together, new ideas, and side quests, or something else that you might think would be interesting or cool.

One final thing: Zhodani civilization has been actively and deliberately demonized by the Imperium. Nothing in this propaganda is true and the FFW was a rationalization for genocide.

Does the player have any input, or did he just give you carte blanche?

Or Vargr. Or Arden. Or Ine Givar. Or...

There is a Freelance Traveller Campaign called Vlezhdiets that might be useful to you. I doubt you can use the whole campaign, but I think it is mineable for your needs.

The player knows he got screwed and he knows that I have plans for him, but we've known each other a long time and there is a trust for collaboration.

Funny you should ask, the father is an Ine Givar operative. However one of his "daughters" is actually an agent that was turned by the Imperium. I think she's going to try and seduce one of the players but will get killed as she tries to escape to "safety". Alternately she could be sacrificed telegraphing to the players that maybe the Imperium are actually the bad guys.

Fantastic thank you!
