Trial version of GRIP

Mail it to me if you would. I am reopening a GRiP related area on the site and will be hosting goodies like this. I'm also actively working on v4 of the software ;)

Excellent news! :D

I'm going to work now, but I have lots of stuff for you to look at, so maybe PM me so I can arrange to send them to you, Hunter.

Tutorials, ADV's CS and Ents, etc...

Cool! I'm registered over on the GRiP board now. Probably the best place to talk about the freebies, tutorials, and v4 for now, till I get things set up here again.

Agreed, see you there...

Oh yea how does grip fit in with T20? Or is grip more GURPS or Classic Traveller centric?
GRiP can be used to play any RPG over the net with up to 8 players. The Traveller version just has some CT specific tools added to it.

Which link? I fixed the ones here and just rechecked them. Seem to all 3 be working.

The link from the GRIP Electronic Edition page in the catalog for one.

Anyhoo, is GRIP java based and if so any chance of v4.0 being mac compatible? I really want to give it a shot but I'm a bit of a mac addict and my windows emulator is just too slow.

Opps, sorry Hunter, should have mentionied the link, but Border Reiver pointed it out. I also hope the new version is Mac compatible...was sorry to see I couldn't run it. Border - do you use Bootcamp or another program?

PM Me. I'll email you the T20 character sheet I did. (With Berg's help.) I have been looking at streamlining it a little but it runs solid as is.

Ah ok forgot about that one. Fixed now. Let me know if you find any others.

No, it's a Windows program though it does run fine under emulation software from those I know who have used it that way. Have you tried running the trial version to see if it is slow on your machine?

I thought that GRIP would be a good way to get back into playing CT after a two decade break, but I am also a Mac user. :D

I have a MacBook Pro and a Mac Mini, both Intel machines, but not wanting to defile them with windoze I've just tried to run the GRIP demo and update using a program called Crossover that allows some Windows programs and .exe files to work native in OS X.

The iPC module runs ok;
The iGS module seems to run,but it's hard to tell as there are no games listed on the schedule server;
The iGM module just gives me a Run-time error '429' (You do not have an appropriate license to use this funcionality)

I guess this means I've got to buy the full package to find out if it will work...

Cheers,

Martin.

Casualty of a server move. I need to get it running again.

Try rebooting. If that doesn't work, reinstall and reboot right after the install completes. I've seen it work ;) Some of the files seem like they don't get registered properly the first time.

The game server would be nice... Can you get Psionics/OtherWorlders IRC server to accept GRiPNet again?
It would be good to have the Guildhall back.
