One of the scout service's contributions to the imperium, Trigiene was developed by the scout service to be a universal hygienic aid, serving as soap, shampoo and also as an oral hygiene product, I.E. toothpaste. Though not widely mentioned, it also dilutes down to make a useful douche.

The product remained in the scout service for a long time, where it simplified hygienic logistics. Given the formula was never patented, a retired scout decided to make up a batch and market it to those who had a need to travel light and simple.

Trigiene is also used in prisons, hospitals, etc.

It is a staple in TAS hostels, and is common among frugal travellers and traveller posers. it has a very, very long shelf life and bottles over a century old have been found and used with full effectiveness. It has survived being frozen solid for long periods and still remained usable when thawed.

A motto has become so associated with Trigiene that has even been printed on some standard issue bottles: For skin, hair and oral hygiene, all you need is Trigiene.

Some Trigene bottles come with a cap that has a hollow cylindrical top that allows one to carry a folding toothbrush and a roll of floss within. Taking care of one's teeth is considered important when several parsecs from a dentist.

Game use: A one liter, .5 kilo bottle of Trigiene will provide all the hygienic needs of a normal human for 6 weeks, assuming regular bathing, washing hands, brushing teeth and perhaps a shampoo a week.

If used to wash a surface wound, it may give a positive modifier to any infection rolls. Trigiene is slippery and could be used as various forms of lubricant, tho certainly not in anything like a car engine, or could be used to make someone slip on a hard, smooth surface.

It is normally clear, pale pink in color. It is quite affordable, and some hostels give out small free bottles to each guest.

NOTE: This is a "fluff" product, meant to give the traveller universe a little more color and detail.

I like it!

I can imagine a wide variety of packaging arising from different parts of space - some totally spartan and generic, others bearing philosophical tracts reminiscent of that found on Dr. Bronner's bottles, or a variety of "Hitch-hiker's Guide"-type pieces of advice.
