Vehicle Design System

Hi.

I'd be interested in finding an alternative vehicle design system for CT/MT (not as complicated as MT!), along the lines of LBB2 Ship building. Does anyone know if such a thing exists? Something called "Vehicles: Design and Operation" was mentioned on rpg.net as a simplified version of Striker, but I've not been able to find it so far.

What I'm after is a system that will let me build the basics of a vehicle in 5 mins and yet still let it be usable in a Traveller game. Something along the lines of "Ok, it's volume is X, that gives you Y spaces in which you can fit stuff", etc. Basically so that I can answer the questions of:

How big is it?
How fast is it?
How much damage can it take?
What armour does it have?
What weapons does it carry?
How many crew/passengers?

Can always try T20's design rules for vehicles. They are designed to work with CT and replicate the CT vehicles as closely as possible.
 
In Re EABA: Stuff... Compatibility with other systems is limited, since it rates everything in EABA game terms. (Unlike CORPS VDS and 3g3.)

It does work nicely, and it is simple... but it's not really designed for non-EABA use.

That being said, EABA does readily run traveller; difficulties are directly compatible with the MT task system's target numbers... ;)

(I was a playtester for both.)
 
Have had a quick read through - looks good so far. I keep being undecided between using CT and MT, I think it could work for MT without too many changes, as many of the systems and weapon stats you've got in there are already defined in MT. I think the armour values could be suitable as well.

Yeah, Piper's are pretty decent. And Hunter's has the benefit of having updated starship rules, as well.

Has anyone made an MT vehicle designer like Ace and the Dogs' 'Ships III'?

I think Rob Prior did but I'm not sure where or if it's still available. And istr it was for Mac. I think BITS carried it in the day.

EDIT: Ah, it wasn't for MT but T4 based on the rules in the Central Supply Catalog. BITS did carry it, including a nearly full demo, it was Mac (but a Win version was in the works). It was called Infini-V but I can't find much in the way of helpful links.
