I would dearly like to obtain these two supplements as they gave me many hours of enjoyment back in the 80's but have since become lost somewhere on my travels around the UK.

Stupid E-bay, I say !
? It's been a while since I registered but I'm not seeing anything where you have to have a credit card to register. Most sellers offer more options than paying by Paypal, usually money orders/cashier checks. Paypal accepts checks and doesn't have to be tied to either a checking account or credit card account.
Or did I miss something about eBay and the UK / Europe? I vaugely remember something about Paypal not taking European credit cards or something for a while I think. I ask this partially because I usually allow European bids on my auctions.
update: Also places like Crazy Egor's and Titan Games (I don't know UK equivalents) might have copies of each as well. Hopefully for cheap as both books had high print runs. High Guard 2nd edition evidently is the version to get from what I understand.
Okay I see the problem now I think. Sounds like you're well past giving up on ebay but this still may be of general help. I typed "do I need a credit card to register with ebay?" in their help section and found this:
"Notes:
If you register with an "anonymous" email address, such as Yahoo or Hotmail, you'll need to place a valid credit card number on file to verify your identity. Your card will not be charged."
So you might want to try registering with your ISP email account if you have one or if you did and ebay still wanted a credit card you might want to try contacting them about why they have your ISP on their "anonymous" list. Dunno if they treat all webmail as "anonymous" but I can see why they'd treat yahoo and hotmail as such. So I don't have a recomendation on a different webmail you might want to sign up for if ISP email isn't an option.
update: Looks like titan games has several copies of each book for sale from $10+ . Just checked their website.
They used to have basic links set up that were IMO faster but this is more specific and likely easier to update.
Note: I'm not connected with Titan Games or Crazy Egor's aside from being a customer. There's also Dragon's Trove, http://www.dragonstrove.com/, who's good but he tends to cater to collectors more than the other two. Good if you need a mint product but you often pay a bit more for it. Not connected with him either.
HTH.
[update]Browse our shop produces a big ole list of company links. I last bought from them at least one website upgrade ago so didn't spot it at first.
