Wealth System? (Ideas from d20 Modern)

Hey all:

Has our intrepid design team kept an eye on developments on d20 Modern, by WOTC?

(I must confess I didn't thoroughly search this forum for previous posts -- just skimmed the topics in this main branch.)

Check out the two articles on Wealth and Equipment:

<http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=d20modern/article/20020801b>

It presents a very interesting idea about how to deal with all forms of wealth in modern/sci-fi settings. So...my question: is there anything like this in T20? (If not, no big deal, of course; one can always incorporate material from elsewhere...)

Thanks!
Dan

Actually, while I am a fan of abstract wealth (I tend to play rich players with Storyteller, especially Adventure!) , this is not a good option for Traveller.

Mainly because that finance and economics represent a key detail in the game. Take for example GT:Far Trader, where Traveller now has a system to determine the wealth of the whole imperium (see Anthony Jackson's excelent map of the imperium here.

While it may be benificial for players who play merc/explore game, for the cred heads, looking for the extra credits to fund a lucrative cargo run makes good roleplaying. It also allows the GM to employ Murphy's law on the players when you track every credit....
