A quick Whois search says that although the domain in question has expired, it is pending renewal or deletion. Also that it is/was registered to Colin Michael of Kentucky US.

Two years ago, when dealing with the Traveller Wiki being moved, Colin asked me if I would take over management of Downport (and the subsidiaries). He wanted someone to really do something with them rather than having them be an archive of bit-rotting material. I declined because I lacked both the web-savy to do any real updated, and the time to take on another (yet) another project.

If you (someone, anyone) really interested in seeing it continue, I would recommend contacting Colin. Otherwise I think he's just going to let it go.

I've contacted Colin via LinkedIn, and he said:

"Let them know that I am dropping all Traveller sites as they expire. If anyone wants one or more I would be happy to allow transfer. Ronnie Brown wants Downport.com, and I am willing to renew lapsed domains in order to transfer, or I'll zip and send the content to anyone who wants it."

So that's the state of play. Maybe I should have asked him what's the best way to contact him? I might do that now. ;-)

I asked Colin what's the best way to contact him if someone wants one of the domains, and he gave me this address:

Some time ago I pointed them (on the contact us page) that it lacks some of the suplements published in Spanmish by Diseños Orbitales, specifically:
