What is the 'Dark Nebula' Boxed Game?

I see it on e-bay. I've looked at the trav illustrated bibliography. But I'm none the wiser as to what it is. Anyone own it? Know of it? Have played it? What is it? Stand alone game? Adventure supplement? How well done is it? What does it contain? What is the idea behind it? etc.

Thanks for any info in advance!

From what I remember, it's basically a relatively small game using the Imperium rules covering a conflict between the Aslan and the Solomani. The twists are that the map changes from game to game (modular sections), there is a dark nebula map section (don't remember the effect), and there are neutral systems/groups.

Victory conditions can vary greatly depending on the placement of the Dark Nebula map.

It's a series 120 game, so think "Imperium with a twist and in 2 hours."

Well Goblin, I must say that was helpful!

Seriously, thanks for the input from all. I'm going to have to try to win me a copy of Imperium on E-bay but it sounds like this might be worth a few bucks on E-bay too.

PS - What is a series 120 game? (a game designed to be played in 2 hours is my guess...?)

That's generally the idea. The games area all relatively small in size and scope with the boxes being the same size as the original Traveller boxed set. Generally one sheet of counters (5" x 8"), fold out maps on heavy paper (but not cardstock), relatively short rules. The games were also relatively inexpensive.

Well, I won the auction and should have Dark Nebula shortly. So I guess I'll get a chance to try it.

I lost out on Hard Times and Theta Borealis Sector, both of which kind of annoyed me, but so go the ups and downs of Ebay.

Thanks for the info.
