Who is this Keith guy, anyway?

I just noticed that the guy who wrote for Traveller also wrote some of my Battletech stuff and also several novels.

Are there any Keith fans out there that can comment on his works??

Together they also made the Traveller universe come alive through art. Look at any Classic Traveller product and you are almost certain to see some of their artwork. For some (myself included) it defines Traveller in a very special way...others don't like the expressionless (or constipated look) look of the characters and if you look carefully all the women are the same...but as one was a graphic artist, you can't expect much for RPGs.

Just can't place the following products:

Outside the Expanses: Reaver's Deep
Pilot's Guide to Ea Subsector
Port Authority Handbook: Arrival In-System
Port Authority Handbook: Communications
Port Authority Handbook: Convoys
Port Authority Handbook: Interdicted Planets
Port Authority Handbook: Inward Clearance
Traveller: The Final Frontier
World's of the Imperium: Fisher's World

Yeah, kafka, and there's some of that artwork (originals) on sale on eBay, thanks to MWM.

These are likely projects which were completed - but not published (at least not initially)

Paul Sanders and Cargonaut Press (whose site seems to be down) published a lot of 'Lost Supplements'

I'm guessing Outside the Expanses: Reaver's Deep is the same as 'The Reaver's Deep Sourcebook' that Cargonaut published. I reckon the 'Outside the Expanses' part comes from the fact that FASA, who published a lot of Keiths' stuff, ran a mag called 'High Passage' which focused on The Old Expanses sector. Later they switched to the Keiths' Reavers' Deep in the short lived 'Far Traveller'. Hence 'Outside the Expanses'.

Pilot's Guide to Ea Subsector hmm...probably the sequel to the Reavers' Deep book 'A Pilot's Guide to the Drexilthar Subsector'

Port Authority Handbook series. The material might be covered in Cargonaut's 'Starport: Planetfall'. Also 'High Passage' 3 has Arrival in system, 4 has Interdicted planets and 5 has another Port Authority article - I don't know the subject though.

'Far Traveller' 1 and 2 have Inward Clearance and Communications Part 1

World's of the Imperium: Fisher's World is an article in High Passage 5.

Traveller: The Final Frontier...I wish I knew.

If you want these then you can trawl the web or wait for the 'FASA and Gamelords' cd-rom from MM.

I don't think the Cargonaut stuff is on the cd-rom (anyone know?)

The Cargonaut stuff is well worth tracking down - Paul Saunders did a great job. The individual books are fine - but the 'Lost Supplements' folder with all the books is great.

Starviking

(Mucho thanks to the Illustrated Traveller Bibliography for refreshing my memory!)

Paul, unfortunately, only has the licence to produce the books that he did. I concur that this was an outstanding effort and hope that Marc reconsiders his licence to allow him to do the PDF thing. As we need more of that type of Traveller goodies to flow.

I wonder if there is hope that Seeker may pick up some of the unpublished Keith stuff. As they talk about releasing Far Traveller#3 but they are so obstinate that it is hard to get any truth from them.

Convoys are covered in HG #5.. I just happen to have issue #5 in my briefcase here at work.

The Freedonian Air & Space Administration is arguably one of the longest lasting legacies of Traveller. ;)

Speaking of FASA Traveller obscura, it appears that copies of Dale Kemper's unpublished draft manuscripts on the Far Frontiers sector are available on ebay.

The Kieth Brothers are "Great Old Ones" of traveller, right up there with DGP.

I see Kafka landed that manuscript. I just wish that had been around when I was writing the other half of that sector for TTC, all those years ago now.
