In my setting I have a space travelling circus and a space travelling museum,
a band would indeed make a nice addition.

Another little gem worth browsing is Graeme Base's children's book, Worst Band in the Universe. May I wholeheartedly suggest exploring his other books for RPG seeds if not unofficial/non-canon reference works in general.
