Travellers' Aid Society logo needed

Absent Friend
I need a copy of the canonical TAS logo. I believe Forms and Charts had an ID with a TAS logo on it, but I don't have that supplement. I found a very nice logo at this site:

http://www.cafepress.com/travellersaid

and I'm wondering if that's the canonical one or one made up for that particular site. If it's not the canonical logo, could someone perhaps provide me with one?

Nope, no logo on the TAS card in Supp 12. The one you linked is vaguely like the Tukera Lines logo (in that both are a circle with 3 lines flared behind) so I think it's just made up by the site author. I'm not sure there ever was an official logo. Might have been something in some MT era publication, or I'm just ghosting a memory :)

That's bad news and good news. Means I can't use the logo from that site, but OTOH I can make up one of my own.

Logo

I'll look thru my collection of JTAS when i get home (suggest if you have the JTAS Cd check thru it for a TAS logo ..Forms and Charts does not have one on the ID card just travellers aid society in a box with each word above the other so I would not consider it a logo..

Our group always looked for the building with the letters "TAS" on it. No logo. In other words the acronym was the logo.

In Optimum bold italics, of course. I remember now that when I was writing a campaign newspaper for my players some years ago, I made the same search for a Traveller News Service logo and couldn't find anything other than the letters.

Nice :)

Looks like (to me anyway, what do I know ;) ) the TAS logo could be shifted just a bit to the left to center it on the Mid Passage.

I wonder, could you do up a Mid Passage with the Starburst? And a High and Low with the TAS logo? (well, maybe not the Low, but they do give out High Passage as dividends in the OTU).

EDIT: Oh, just noticed (low comprehension roll ;) ) the Low Passage is the Ministry of Colonization. That's cool, but I'm not sure all the ones in mustering out would be such, could you do one of that from the State as well?

Thanks much in anticipation :D

I like these Hans. I always thought it would help with immersion to hand out Imperial warrants, pilot licenses complete with a photo, ship registry, etc to players.

You're right. I'll see if I can figure out how to replace the image. If I can't, I'll post a revised one. I want to make a couple of other changes anyway.

So canon informs us. Except GURPS Traveller, which claims the benefit is a Mid Passage. I've no idea why Jim (or whoever) changed that, and normally I'd want to ignore the change, but in the light of the explanation I've come up with to reconcile per jump tickets with common sense (i.e. per parsec costs), I'm not so sure I wouldn't suggest a small retcon here. If High Passages are intended to give high-ranking Imperial muckety-mucks the power to bump ordinary passengers in a pinch, in order to speed their way to their appointed duties, wouldn't it make sense for the Imperium to restrict civilian organizations like the TAS and the megacorporations to issue Mid and Low passages?

Anyway, here's a TAS PPV -- for the OTU or for alternate TUs as the case may be, now and in the future:

And here's the MoS Mid Passage:

Enjoy!

It looks like a Traveller-ish design from decades past. On the cafepress site it says, "The items contained in this store were designed for the staff of the Traveller 30th Anniversary Party to be held at BayCon 2007." Note there is a ™ on the logo, but it doesn't say if Baycon holds it or if the designer kept it.

Erm....I went to that cafe press site and one of the items with the Traveller's Aid Society logo on was a thong with the logo on. What I want to know is whether they sell them in Aslan size.

And what does 'special services' printed underneath it mean?

Either way, I don't think I'd better use it. Anyway, I went with plain 'TAS' in the end.

I do believe that undergarments woud violate MWM's appropriate use guidelines.

excellent work, I dug thru my piles of junk and could not find a TAS logo other than the italicized bold letters Now I see your work and it looks just right .
