TML Loren Wiseman Charity Deckplans Project

mcgurk

SOC-12
Hi all,

If you are all aware of this project already please forgive my posting again here.

Eric Frietas over on the TML is kickstarting a charity deckplans project to raise money to help Loren Wiseman with his medical expenses.

He intends to design and sell newly designed Traveller Ship Deckplan PDF's in order to raise money for Loren.

So far he has about 4-5 deckplans submitted to him but he really does need more to make this a worthwhile project.

Therefore, I wanted to ask if, perhaps, anyone has a deckplan lying around that they could contribute (I am not sure of the exact format required) or would anyone be willing to make up a new one?

If anyone is interested please feel free to get in touch with me on threeeyesmcgurk@hotmail.com or contact Eric via the TML

Any help that folks can give would be much appreciated

Alan Hume

Count me in if...

Tell me the format to submit them in and give me an address.

I have a couple I will gladly donate but I do not do the TML.

Thanks, let me go to Eric and ask permission to give you his Personal email and we can take if from there - SHINY'

I don't know about new deckplans, but Gypsycomet's old site had a lot of excellent deckplans on it - they wouldn't go amiss in a project like this.

But GC would have to be the one to submit them, otherwise it's piracy.

What are the minimum requirements quality wise?

Images:

The plans will be layed out in US Letter format. You may use color. We
aren't doing a physical book to my knowledge, everything will be print-outs.

The theme is currently... anything, however I would like to have some
non-standard ships, such as mining vessels, construction vessels, in-system
commuters, and maybe recreation vehicles (really expensive ones, possibly
with jump drives). I currently have a 400dT spy ship, a 200dT jump-2
gunboat, a 200dT merchant (tail sitter), and a life boat. Let's see what
kind of interesting vessels we can come up with!

Images should be submitted in 300 or 600 dpi .tif, .eps, or .ai (CS3 or
earlier) formats. Our layout man will have final say on that.

Try to get the deckplan image to fit on one page. 2 decks per page are
easily doable with anything up to 500dT.

Stats:
Get the stats to fit on one page, much like the format seen in the
Mongoose books. Use your good judgement.

Stats must be converted to the rules used in Mongoose Traveller Core
Book or as found in the Mongoose Traveller High Guard book. These design
rules are part of the Open Game License and are available in the Developer's
Pack on Mongoose Publishing's Traveller web site. The link is found at the
bottom of the page under "Traveller Main Rulebook" as "Developer's Pack":
http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/home/series.php?qsSeries=51.

Let's shoot for 10 plans and see if we can get more. Twelve or fifteen
might even be nice.

I will be providing licensing information and a license form to sign.

I got a reply email from Eric that there would be a followup on the TML but if there was I missed it. I only get the digest and rarely read it but I was looking for developments on this. Unless there is new info this project looks stalled, or dead.

The answer to that is "I actually don't know but I know a man who does:.)"

If I can direct you over to the TML and Eric Freitas then all your questions will be answered kind sir;.)

Hi again, just read your post, the project is most certainly not dead, going slower than would be hoped for I guess but then it's a lot of work, Eric has been lumbered with doing me ship deck plans from my brief because I just cant work the software so that is taking time that shouldnt have to be spent to be honest

All is well:.)

Which tells me next to nothing unfortunately . Thanks though spelling out the initials.

Basically a Yahoo Group, I don't bother with it because it too much chaff too little wheat for me. It has been around for a long time however and there ARE some real brains there.

ALSO: cs3 .ai is what I do my designs in or of course I could export to anything it supports (a lot).

I am not familiar with "TML"

The TML is a mailing list (not dissimilar to a Yahoo Group) currently running on over on travellercentral.com. Apparently it started on Genie, back in the 80s, but when I joined it was being hosted on mpgn.com.

Until recent years it was the defacto main source of Traveller communication online, with traffic often exceeded 100 mails a day. This could be delivered individually or combined as a daily ‘digest’. Current traffic levels are considerably less. The TML has been the source of various fan-based initiatives including the TML Landgrab.

Just to let you all know that things are continuing apace here, hope you can all keep an eye out for further reports:.)

Patience Padawan Patience;.)

I have nothing new to report as yet, I need to check in with Eric Freitas to get the low down on where things are at, I shall get onto that today

It is most certainly going well though
