2300AD CD-ROM

11 days to go...
10 days ...
...

;)

This looks really good, especialy if I get the gaps my Challenge Magazines filled.

My CD-ROM arrived today. :D

So far so good. Will try to review later.

Guys, I need some guidence here.

Is the CD worth it? The megatraveller CD was, to be kind, dis-appointing.

I want the articles from challenge, but, only if they are legible.

What is the scan and ocr quality like?

best regards

Dalton

I bought the CD and I'm very pleased with the product.

I don't know the MT CD, but the quality of the scanned originals included in the 2300AD CD is better than the pdf copys you can buy at Drive Through - well that's my humble opinion.

You get all modules in good scan quality,
you get extracts from the Challenge magazine - only the pages with 2300AD content -
and you get the stuff about THE GAME ;)

the only thing I was missing was a large space hex template for Star Cruiser...

nothing a good graphic program can't fix.

Whoa... When I first heard of the CD-ROM I was under the impression that it would just contain Traveller 2300/2300 AD and a few related Challenge articles. I figured why bother since I have the box set. However, now that I see that it contains so much more, I might invest in a copy.

Any idea what kind of turn-around time I should expect to see on orders? I pay-pal'd w/credit card on jan 17. It's now Feb 1,and no uber-CD yet. Two weeks seems like it should have been plenty, but I don't want to get all bitter-customer unless it's really necessary.

(i love 2300ad, and hate to think of anything negative associated with it)

You could try dropping them an email:

Inquiry@FarFuture.net

failing that, did you get an order confirmation email?

You could always use that to ask if it's gone missing.

I've personally never had any problems ordering and receiving goods, but stuff happens :(

2 weeks is not unheard of. The problem is usually not that Far-Future takes excessive time to ship, it is that they use USPS Media Mail...

which. takes. as. long. as. it. takes.

...to deliver to your door.

Drop Marc a quick note to confirm shipping and cross your fingers.

Okay, USPS Media rate. *That* changes my expectations substantially. Not to slam the USPS unnecessarily or anything, but two weeks is well inside the margin. I won't start worrying about it for another two weeks.

Fwiw- Marc responded to my order within about three hours thanking me for the order and saying that it would be going out in the next day's mail. Frankly, I was just giddy to be getting mail from *THE* Marc Miller, though I'm told I'm easily amused.

Anybody know how I can get the disk in the UK. Will Far future ship internationally? If so how long will it take?
