2320AD Early Release Sample

Man, Colin.

If stuff like that is making it into the final version, I'm going to have change my mind about NOT buying a dead-tree version and shell out the bucks to get a hardcopy.

The Combat Walker is "very nice".
I would kill for an actual mini.
Ah well, I'm gonna proxy some HO scale Heavy Gear minis for my upcoming campaign.

Here are a couple of samples of B&W interior art that I'm working on.

battlesuit-6-sm.jpg

Battlesuit. Based on the ballistic armor I drew for the cover artwork, this is a beefed up, rigid shell suit of unpowered armor with integral respirator.
catfish-old-new.jpg

Catfish submersible combat walker. Left it Colin's 3D sketch, right is my interpretation. I chose to forego the props since they would be too tempting a target and try to have the leg units contain the submarine propulsion as well as fold up into a somewhat streamlined configuration.

Ted.... I've always LOVED your traveller art! It's amazing! (bring on the T5 ring bound edition I say!)Now to know that your doing art for 2320. wow.
Might have to buy 2 copies... you know, one for the table on Tuesday nights when the boys are around and one to keep pristine on my shelf.
(is that obsessive? g/f thinks so!)

I need help, obviously.

Colin, Ted,

The artwork looks fantastic - at this stage it looks like 2320 is going to be a first class product.

Looking forward to the release - I may even revise my earlier position and get the PDF - particularly if this will move the hard copy version along.

Now let's get this thing released !

Kind regards

RR.

Combat armor kicks arse - much better looking than the original 2300 boxart.

I kinda like Colin's Catfish concept - though it does have that "research vehicle hastily outfitted for combat work" - like something you'd see being exported from Syuhalam. I dig the props and the star-shaped portholes on the nose (instead of the Macross Glaug/BT Marauder/Robotech Khyron's Battle Pod nose).

Any way we could get PDF of Colin's concept artwork as a purchase item?

Count me in for a POD and a PDF.

I like the battlesuit, the range truck, and the tiltrotors. I'm a little more dubious of the above-the-wing engine design of the heavy lift plane.

One thing that would probably be very 2300 is wing-in-ground style of plane. WIGs can move ludicrious masses very cheaply. Russians have some interesting models.

Looking forward to seeing this in a dead-tree version soon.

Count me in for a POD and a PDF.
I never buy pdf files.. almost never. Never get enough time on my pc to read them and never feel like printing them... I MAY make an exception in this case if its cheap enough.

Looking great!

I'l probably buy it if it'll be released in hardcopy - but I'd like to buy T20 hardcopy before that; is it still on print?

Would I be correct in saying that unless things have changed with 2320AD you still need the T20 book to use it ?

Yes, that would be correct. The referee's section does contain notes on using 2320AD with D20 modern, but they are just notes, not a full-blown set of rules.

Colin, Hunter, Ted,

Great work guys, thanks for keeping the faith and getting this done. I think 2320AD will be a great game in itself, and the classy feel you have already set will help ensure that!

Cheers,

So I'll hope for a hardcopy re-release of T20

EDIT: This page says that the main T20 book is in stock - if that's true I'll order it once I'll get a permament address and a stable budget (in a month or two, most likely).

Hi Colin, Hunter et al,

Have you considered slapping the 2320 AD cover graphic on this, and making it available over in the Free Downloads section of RPG Now and Your Games Now?

Not only would it let people know that the print edition of 2320 AD is imminent -- I didn't know `til I came here and read this forum -- presuming that you plan to release the book in PDF form eventually, it primes that audience for the product as well.

Since the introductory chapter makes clear that 2320 AD requires the use of the T20 ruleset, you might even sell a few more copies of that PDF rules bundle, to boot.

Adamant Entertainment recently did something similar with their ER Burroughs'-flavored d20 rpg MARS, and the free preview put that product on my buy-when-released-on-PDF radar. Otherwise, I wouldn't have known it existed.

I may actually buy 2320 AD when it's released as a book, but after a number of moves where the cost of shipping my gaming books cross-country proved to be appallingly expensive, I've since become a staunch PDF fan.

Good luck with 2320 AD,

LL

There will be a 'Lite' version of 2320AD. Ted and I just need to finalize the details. It will include, among other things: Basic chargen notes, some weapons, vehicles and equipment, basic information on the colony worlds, but detailed information only for the world of Aurore. It also includes the passenger spaceplane, with a deckplan.
Shortly after it comes out, there will be a freebie adventure released, which makes use of 2320AD Lite. Something about a crashed spaceplane, the Auroran Hotback, and a rescue mission. Oh yeah, and Kafers.

Y'all should check with Rob Caswell if you need more art. He's probably still got the originals for a lot of the work that he did for the original game...
