I don't have much to post on this yet. First, I will say that the setting information, all that has gone before, will stay the same. That includes the Near Star List. It may not be accurate anymore, but it is close enough, and too much has been predicated on that map to change it now.

I'm working on the rules-intensive portions first, including character generation, world generation, and vehicle and starship design. After that comes the building of the setting, taking what has gone before and adding 20 years of history to it. New colonies and the results of the Kafer War will be dealt with, and there will be new opportunities and new threats to challenge the players.

Along with, of course, new weapons, vehicles, starships and equipment, all D20 / T20 compatible. Some of the old favorites from 2300 AD will be there, along with new stuff from the past 20 years of setting history.

As for play-testing, I can't speak to that at the moment. I'll have to wait until the project is farther along. But thanks for asking.

This is a great project to be working on, and I'm really looking forward to it.

Howdy, Colin! Nice to "meet" you!

I'm an old 2300 fan (http://anch_stevec.crosswinds.net). Sorry to hear that the new stars won't be added (although I can see why the old ones won't be moved). Kinda invalidates my posts to that other thread, though! ;-p

So, have you decided how the Kafers were defeated, yet?

Will "The 18" (Spacefaring powers) be growing?

Psionics?

What about the task system? Is it scrapped, and a "level" system added?

The NSL is a source of considerable comment, I'll admit. Too much of the setting's history depends on the stellar realtionships of the NSL, though, so I'm not prepared to change it. I've not set out to rewrite the setting, and have no intention of doing so.

I've got mapped out what happens to the Kafers. However, I have to keep some surprises for the book.

The starfaring nations will stay more-or-less the same, though I have to take a closer look at it. There might be one or two ready to move up to interstellar status.

There will be no psionics in 2320. However, seeing as it is a supplement for T20, you could always use the main book's psionics. However, they are not part of the stock 2320 universe.

As for the last question, 2320 is not a standalone game. It is a supplement for T20, and uses that game's mechanics. So, yes, level-based. Check out T20 to see how they do it. It's a very good system.

Well, Nigeria is one, as is/are the Scandinavian Union... The L-5 article (up on my site) is a good starting point...
