50ton fighter

ktaylor

SOC-3
Can anybody point me to a decent T20 50 ton Imperial Navy fighter, and 50 ton Imperial Navy bomber design to go aboard the IN ships outlined in Fighting Ships Travellers Aid 7?

I find it odd that the larger ship designs in that book have listed aboard 50 ton fighers and bombers, yet the heavy fighter, light fighter and bomber designs later in the book are 80 tons, 20 tons and 80 tons respectively.

I assume use of the 15 ton standard design fighter is the one to use aboard ships equipped with the lighter fighter.

thanks for any help you can give on this vexing question

Not really. Fighters tend to be overlooked in traveller to some extent.

IMTU I use fighters (and their bigger cousins gunboats) extensively. I cannot recall anything standing out as a god exemplar. Personally I tend to seperate frame and payload (ie. Here is a 30dTon fighter, here are 4 (or so) configurations for it).

Kevin, why dont you go to Supplmement 9 of fighting ships and rejig the HG stats as T20 stats? Or you could make the long journey to my house (300 metres) and I can do it for you.

Mike

I have 6 50Ton fighters (T20 rules) around here somewhere. They are designed at TLE and TLF (3 each) and a couple of 15Ton designs. I also have an interesting conversion of the Zhodani 8 Ton Fighter, which differs a bit from Michael's interpretation in his excellent Golden Age EAs. I'll dig them up over the next couple of days and post them here.

Ooops I lied. I have 7x 50 ton fighters. I found them this morning. ALso included are the High Tech versions of the 15Ton Imperial Navy Fighters and the 8 Ton Zhodani Fighter. (Sorry Michael I do like my interpretation better.
)

Thanks again Falkyn for your excellent T20 starship design spreadsheet.

I will post them one per message. Please feel free to comment. As usual these are the standard fighters IMTU. Your Universe your rules, your interpretation.

BRAVO Bhoins!!!!

One curious question after that mighty effort sir:

Have you done a write up for the MT COACC TL-F Magnum-class 50dton Heavy Ftr?

Just asking, as I have that book, and recall seeing the illustraton again of it in the T20 THB.

Once again, you've done a bang up job! I especially like the Strela additional FTR for the Zho 600dtn Patrol frigate class ships!
TY TY TY TY TY!
