According to Ken Burnside of Ad Astra Games, the Imperial 1 and Zhodani 1 fleet boxes will go to the prototyper this week!

Can anyone that has played PP:F tell me what the 'average' force per side consists of? Will one of each set be enough, or do the majority of space battles in Traveller involve more ships?

I have played PP:F and the forces I have seen usually involved a few (up to five) capital ships (ships with spinal mounts) and as many as a dozen escorts.

One pack of each will be enough for starters, especially if you "borrow" some other minis to serve with the Ad Astra ships.

The worst weak spot in the current "fleet packs" is that the Imperial escorts are all very small at 1000 dtons. I certainly hope they put some P.F. Sloans in the second fleet pack.

I know these aren't starship miniatures, but I just found some figures that would make decent Imperial Marines if you painted them differently (boarding action, anyone?) from here. The same company that makes the other cool starships (and Full Thrust rules).

Arrrgh Not enough pictures But the ones they do show could very easily be Imperial Marines in Battle Dress. Nice figs. Thanks for the link.

Believe me, what comes in the packs are more than enough for a decent-sized game.

Yeah, sorry, I meant to add that their site doesn't have many pics, but if you download or view their catalog in PDF, there are a lot more pics there. Still can't make out what the troops look like in detail, but you can see most of the ships there much better.
