I'm not sure what I should add after that link -- I mean, it's a complete and awesome scenario in itself. What are we mortals supposed to add to it?

Look at that atrium/rotunda/whatcha-call-it. Cries out for an awesome knife's-edge ninja-and-or-gun-battle -- one AROUND THE DANG MISSILE

It looks like a high tech world science museum (inside) or an A class Starport main terminal building with the tower being the TAS hotel

It looks very "Bond Villain", doesn't it? Pretty "Jerry Anderson", too.

So it could be either the HQ of some Lensman-style Galactic SaviorsRUs, or the source of Ultimate Evil demanding to be taken down by the aforementioned saviors of the galaxy.

Maybe the orbital rings around the center could be the particle accelerators for a massive weapon and the whole shebang is on a planet-killer ship made from an asteroid. Jump into a system, shatter the planet's tectonic seams and let the apocalypse begin! Have to update those really (really) old CRT's, though, and get some hologram monitors put up first.

Yes, I like the perambulating planet-killer planetoid idea.

If the world it was on was some kind of galactic amusement park with inhabitants wearing togas and capes on the cover of a Golden Age pulp magazine with "Amazing" or "Thrilling" as part of the title.

True, true. Sometimes I have to send the monotard out to the cleaners because it can be really hard to get Soylent Green stains out of gold lurex, and that means I have to wear last season's toga.
