I have recently re-discovered Classic Traveller having played in much in Junior High and High School. Those years are quickly fading in the rear view mirror and I am rereading the rules to play again!!!!
First observation - its amazing how many things we did wrong!!!

I do have a Ship Construction question.
Under Fuel it says that at a minimum a ship fuel tankage must equal:
0.1MJn+10Pn, where M is the tonnage of a ship, Jn is the ships Jump number and Pn is the Ships power plant rating.

So, by way of example, if one was designing the Beowulf class Type A Free Trader - one would need minimum fuel tankage of:
(0.1*200)*1+(10*1) = 31 tons of fuel storage.

Am I doing this correctly?

Thanks!

First of all, wellcome to the board.

This said, I guess you're doing slightly wrong, as your formula was correct but your math not:

So, by way of example, if one was designing the Beowulf class Type A Free Trader - one would need minimum fuel tankage of:
(0.1*200)*1+(10*1) = 31 tons of fuel storage.

0.1*200=20

10*1=10

20+10=30 (not 31)

I feel sheepish...
Thanks I thought I had it right but as you said my math was wrong!

I will probably be inquiring about other things as my memories of how we did things conflict with how we should have been doing things!

We ALL make math errors. Only some of us get caught. It does, however, prove that someone read your post! ;)
