When reading the threads for Space Badger's Reavers Deep, I saw the CT chargen houserules he created for that game, including a completely-from-scratch Free Trader career. Some backstory and some associates

Aaron Maxwell Gaziindir-Viden is the son of Durion Gaziindir (of whom he is the second son) and Contessa Viden. His mother is from a minor Noble family, while his father, currently 62 years old, is the head of Gaziindir Enterprises Ltd; though, the couple divorced only a few years after Aaron’s birth.

Gaziindir Enterprises is a well-known, lucrative, but quasi-quasi-legal merchant/trading company. It has been the employer of Aaron for the first five Terms of his career. Aaron has followed largely in the footsteps of his father in his career choices, and has also continued the more illicit, smuggling aspects of the company. As can be seen from his skill set, Aaron is well versed in the more shady aspects of life on a Free Trader ship, with knowledge of bribery, gambling and the like.

He too has a good knowledge of the local “underground”, which has proved useful as there are many trading, moving and smuggling opportunities to be found there, ranging from vaguely shady to outright black market. However, he isn’t very experienced in terms of combat skills. His physical stats aren’t particularly impressive, and the only weapon he knows well is his handgun, which he carries on his person during any business encounter. This is related to the fact that, due to his family’s wealth, he’s never had to directly meet the violent side of dealing with the criminal underworld. When in public, he is always accompanied by his personal bodyguard/butler, Dennis Guronis. Also, in their dealings with the underworld, Gaziindir Enterprises have accumulated a list of debtors, owning them money from a failed business deal or a favour for saving them from arrest; when he needs additional enforcers for anything, Aaron has often been able to call up a group of around half a dozen individuals, mostly thugs and small-time criminals, with debts to his family’s company.

The ship where Aaron spent the first five Terms of his career was the Strong Hand, owned by his uncle, Marcus Gaziindir. Aaron climbed up the ranks, eventually making it to Captain on the Strong Hand, but he soon left the post when an opportunity came along to own a ship of his own: the Jolly Jumper. Since then, he has spent most of his time on-world, looking for crew for his new Free Trader venture alongside Gaziindir Enterprises, for the Jolly Jumper.
