Hmm, that's certainly not the answer I would've expected/hoped for. It matches Behind the Claw but directly contradicts both Spinward Marches Campaign and Traveller's Digest #9. And (most importantly :D !) it invalidates a tournament-style adventure I'd written in which the PCs are Norris and his trusted pals, bravely venturing onto Algine to recover the lost warrant before ol' Santa Claus and/or the stinkin' Joes can figure out what's happened. Oh well, that may be the OTU account, but nothing can change how it all went down in my TU

I'm not trying to sow chaos, (no, really I'm not! :( ), but why didn't Norris just fill out one of his blank warrants as he does/will do in the MT timeline?

I think I know the real answer, that FFW predates MT and that it's more exciting to have Norris adventuring in search of the warrant, but this is the first time this occurred to me.
 
Also, wasn't Norris a subsector duke until after the 5th Frontier War, and then made the sector duke after the war, and in both the main and Gurps timeline wasn't Archduke until after 1116 or so? Or did he jump from subsector duke to Archduke, and was the Duchess of Mora always the sector duchess? Anyway, reason I'm asking is that he wouldn't have enough title, so to speak to make/fake a warrant until after the War, if this were the case.

The evidence is conflicting, but IMO it best supports the last option, that he was "only" a subsector duke until he was elevated to archduke in 1116 (genuinely or not as the universe may be).
