Azhanti High Lightning deck plans

Shonner

SOC-14 1K
The deck plan numbers for the game are not the ship deck numbers, correct? It does not appear that the maps are in order.

They are not. In fact, there are multiples of most decks, too.

See Supplement 5, p15 for the listing of deck order.

Shonner,

Correct. The numbers are simply keys for the detailed descriptions of each deck in the AHL booklets. They have nothing to do with the arrangement of those decks within the ship's hull.

The deck arrangement for the AHL-class cruisers is as follows:

1 Lounge
2-4 Avionics
5 Cartography
6-7 Avionics
8 Cartography
9 Avionics
10-13 Fuel
14 Gunnery
15-16 Crew Quarters
17 Running Bridge
18-19 Crew Quarters
20-21 Cargo
22-24 Fuel
25 Gunnery
26-34 Fuel
35 Gunnery
36-39 Crew Quarters
40 Auxiliary Bridge
41-45 Upper Power Plant
46 Lower Power Plant
47 Gunnery
46-56 Fuel
57 Gunnery
58-65 Fuel
66-67 Main Weapon Deck
68 Flight Crew Quarters
69 Hangar
70 Gunnery
71 Hangar
72 Flight Crew Quarters
73-83 Jump Drive
84 Boat Dock

Hope that helps.

Regards,
Bill

That's what I thought. Because I plan to make a 3D model of the ship and was trying to figure out the order as I go from front to back.

Thanks.

ADDED:
I forgot there was a book with that game. Found it. I haven't looked at this game in almost 30 years. $22 was a lot of money for me back then.

A rough test model so far. Modeled using Hexagon 1.21.

Aside from missing the BFG, the launch tubes, and the bridge tower.... it's recognizably an AHL.

Very Nice

Andrew Boulton did an Azhanti and posted it to the boards last year, I would like to see how yours compares to his after it's finished. He also used the deck plans for his pic.

That's a pretty sweet looking AHL. What file formats will it be available in? Will you be doing a complete interior, too?

For now I have Carrara, Vue, and modo formats that I'm testing with. I'm not even sure if my agreement with FarFuture allows me to give away the model. I plan to do some of the decks as separate models that are to scale that I can model figures for.

rpg.drivethrustuff.com released the original drawing of the AHL today. Looks like my old quick drawings.

And it's FREE* too! :) Gotta say a big thanks to Marc for that. All I got in my download was the reduced 8.5x11 PDF of the sketch (no sign of the high res big version), but still well worth the price ;)

I love this kind of look into the genesis of stuff :D

* might be a limited time offer, it shows a regular price of $10 here's a link:

Check your email from them for both download links. One is PDF and the huge one is JPG. Ignore the mislabeling.

Ah silly me :nonono: I never check those emails, just file them in the DTRPG folder for future reference. Scuse me while I do that, and thank you very much for the heads up Shonner :D
