Battlestar CANCELED!

Now why would Earth be in the process of building a fleet if they never heard of the Cylons?

I'm glad it's ending with this upcoming season. Any longer and it would seem a bit long and possibly look like it's being milked for more money (if it's even making money). Also, I like seeing an end to a story.

I'm quite a bit interested in seeing how it ties into Earth, being that humans came from Earth and didn't settle it as a colony.

And the movie didn't do well enough for another network to pony up the cash to buy Fox's rights.
it's funny when the show was on I didn't really watch it.

now I think the show was better than the movie.

Exploration, warmongering, shits-n-giggles...why do we climb mountains?

Don't you watch Stargate, Star wars, B5...there is always a threat coming that man needs weapons to defend against.

I am bummed by this news. There was a lot the writers could have done with this show. But on the flip side, I'd rather see it go out planned then being dumped mid-season or something.

You might kill me, but I surely will not miss this show.
But perhaps it even gets a bit better with having a kind of finish.

duh,...silly-me. a main staple of scifi is SOMETHING always threatening earth...I even remember UNIT and the Dr. and the bragadier mentioning something about 'why are all the aliens alway bullet proof?...' or something to that effect.

My vision for the Finale

The rag-tag fleet jumps into the Solar System, and discovers Earth is a dead rock, seemingly abandoned by the original inhabitants.

Searching the ruins, they discover evidence that the populace fled the dying Earth because it could no longer sustain their numbers, they were so many.

A starmap points to a dense system, with dozens of planets, and hundreds of moons...

Well played sir. LOL

Take my love, take my land
Take me where I cannot stand
I don't care, I'm still free
You can't take the sky from me
Take me out to the black
Tell 'em I ain't comin' back
Burn the land and boil the sea
You can't take the sky from me
There's no place I can be
Since I found serenity
But you can't take the sky from me

Personally I tried to get into firefly after hearing it was like traveller, but was physically incapable of watching it after a couple episodes.

As to galactica, there's a possibility of a prequel series called "Battlestar Galactica: Caprica" that would detail the history of the origin of the cylons, and how the adama family played a major role in the early days of the setting.
