Bearers of the Flame

Can't wait to see the Bearers of the Flame book!

So how far off does "in development" mean? The Gateway Sourcebook has been "in development" for longer than I can remember. (I guess technically it's being printed, but you get what I mean.)

I was also surprised to see that a softcover version will be published. I thought it was going to be a PDF only enterprise.

In development means I start actualyl writring the wiorsds down in about 2-3 weeks time, with a draft (available in PDF) by Christmas. Print publicaiton will follow but that depends upon all kinds of things. I'd guess end march or so,.

I like the name.

Conotations of not just keeping the flame in trust for someone else, but of taking ownership of the present and moving towards the future.

And, we hope, running a spell check to catch things like 'actualyl' 'writring' 'wiorsds' 'publicaiton', etc.

Just don't break my fingers or else I might start tpying lteters otu fo roder like somebody else... ;)

<No please, not the Stuffed Cushion nor the Comfy Chair.....>

ObTrav:

It would be interesting to have a scenario where a spell checker substituted a word for another word (or failed to catch a typo because what was there was a real world too) and the end result was some military unit getting vastly different orders as the two words had quite different meanings.

And I note you didn't comment on when or if Project 5641 would appear or what its progress was ?

It changed when I changed it.

Project 5641... isn't one of the priority projects right now.

The more I think about the name Bearers of the Flame, the more I like it.

The really cool thing is that, in some ways, it can be interpreted as a slam on the Keepers of the Flame.

The Bearers name originates froma post I sent to someone some years ago, the final line of which was something like 'enough keeping the flame. Let's set fire to something!'

Yeah, but it's still annoying as hell. ;)

You misspelled "important". No wonder I couldn't make any sense of that.

The first time I got that in my mail, I read about half of it before I realized the words were "not right".

Reading it here (only the second time I've seen it), I noticed right away that there was a misspelling. THEN I looked carefully for more. I notice that "a research" doesn't make sense. Either drop the "a" or make the other word "researcher". Also, "itself" is one word, not two ("its self"). Must be like that cuz he's English and not American. Finally, there should be a comma after "itself".
