Blender First Try

wbyrd

SOC-13
So I decided to give modeling try....Yeah, give me a year or two to figure it out. Well thisis my first try, or tenth if you count the ones I botched and lost.

So at least I can hook shapes together now...

It's sloppy, got overlapping faces all over the place..and at this point i am not able to do much with it..but I thought it looked food enough to admit to...I really need to get a copy of modeling for dummies.

It reminds me of the sort of Frankenstein craft knocked together in TNE..

X-boat at the front end, engine pods from an Imperial destroyer/escort, body from a subsidised merchant.

Are you going to do more work on it?

Politely curious what your 'end-result' tonnage might be as well as the ship's intended purpose.

Pardon my manners, nice job !

Weellllllll there's the problem. Usually I have an idea of what I am trying to builds..This time I was just experimenting, so no definate purpose in mind.

Around 100 tons, and fairly High G design. A patrol/escort vessel is my first choice.

The guns would be purchased as a barbette, and described as a fixed mount since at 100 tons there's not much of a problem being able to bring a fixed set of particle beams on target.

I think I can see where you're going and looks like you're off to a good start.

One suggestion might be having that cockpit be of the 'soap-bubble' type, if the LSU is reserved to the pilots vac-suit rather than a dedicated pressurized compartment, that could allow for allocation of available space-tonnage to other purposes.
