Technically, Robots don't have a BAB. However, the upcoming TA, Robots Of Charted Space, does contain a skill similar to Gunnery, so that robots can actually have a BAB-like mechanic. Hoping to see it soon.
Would it not be a better idea to start mining some of the OGL/SRD rules for constructs and the like for robots?
I realise that this would require a lot or re-writing (sorry Flynn), but now that D20 Future is in the D20 Modern SRD, and the construct rules for D&D, would it not be easier for D20 fans if T20 used as many existing rules as possible?
Especially when they are so compatible, IMHO of course
T20 came out before D20 Modern or 3E Revised, and Hunter has already established the policy of not going back and upgrading/updating T20 to maintain compatibility.
Besides, if you've really looked over D20 Future, the robot section is pretty incompatible with the design section from the THB, and there'd be a lot more work required to do what you are suggesting than simply rewriting a single TA.
However, you can ask the powers that be, and by their direction will I reenter into the chains of Robotic slavery to bring the text into alignment with the direction they feel T20 should go. They are, after all, the ones paying the paycheck, so to speak.
There's a lot of people out there with d20 future and no decent setting, I just though it could be a selling point for T20 if it were compatible with d20F...
not that I mean dropping anything in T20 that is done better, e.g. starships, world design, etc.
