Capital

Has anyone done a write-up on Capital? I was thinking of building an adventure around Capital- I envision it along the lines of Trantor out of the Foundation Series or similar. Obviously, this would not be the place for a shoot-em-up type of adventure. :)

There is an exhaustive write-up in an old issue of Traveller's Digest - issue... 9? I don't have it handy at the moment, they're all packed up. But's after it converted to the regular magazine format, I think the first issue of that as a matter of fact. It's pretty much the focus of the entire issue.

You're right, is Traveller Digest isue #9. It describes mostly the Imperial Palace and its sourrundings, but also talks about Capital at large.

GURPS Traveller Nobles has another take on Capital and may be more accessible than TD9.

Capital was the setting for parts of Agent of the Imperium, too. I'm sure Mr. Miller would love to sell you a copy.

It wasn't quite Trantor, but still a crowded high pop world.

Sounds interesting. I'm looking for something a bit beyond the usual shoot-em-up but also nothing as heavy as assinating an emperor.

I think there was something about Capital in one of the T4 books. Probably 1000 years younger than what you're looking for, tho.

Last time I had a party visit Capital I used pictures from the interwebs of Singapore...

google (other search engines are available) it and check out the images of the city - they have blended their buildings with nature in a very futuristic way.

All you have to do is photoshop in some grav vehicles.

IMTU I still use this as Capital:
Capital (Capital/Core 0508-A586A98-F): Central world of the Imperium and
seat of government since its founding. Situated in the center of the Imperium,
Capital's astrographical location has proven of prime importance, as it controls the
only gap in the Rifts for thousands of parsecs. Besides being a communications hub,
Capital is a cultural and educational center.

Love the picture. I finally located a copy of TD 9. It made for some interesting reading and I'll probably incorporate much of it into MTU.
