Way back when I was taking Aikido, we had a guy who would show up for class for 3 months in the winter, then disappear, then be back. Sensai always was very nice to him, and the gent always had new stuff to show us. Found out he travelled for work, and had a set of dojos around the US that he toured
He comes in one day with a bandage over his hand - and I asked what happened.
"My cat stabbed me by accident. We were playing with a ball, he got excited and hit my hand with his claw"
"That's kinda a big bandage? How big is your cat?"
