Career Specialization/Assignment question

Re-reading through the CharGen rules this morning, I realized that it doesn't allow you to choose a second assingment on a different term - says pick one when you enter your career. Does this seem right to everyone? I would think that you would be able to change assignments between terms of service.

Going by the Pocket Edition, pg.8, column 1, 5th paragraph, you can roll on any table open to you, chosen at the beginning of each term.

Example Rogue:say has EDU 10
1st term, service skills, makes advancement, roll on Enforcer Specialization.
2nd term, Roll on Pirate Specilization, make advancement, roll on Adv. Esu table.
Each term for this character it can roll on Personal Development, Service, Adv.Ed and a specialty of the players choice within Rogue.

Clear as mud?

I could have sworn I saw a clause restricting picking a new specialty, but the checklist (sidebar on page 5 on the full edition) seems to imply you can pick a new specialty each term.

This is how we understand and handle it, provided the change of the spe-
cialisation makes sense within the setting.
For example, we would not allow a Barbarian character to become a Belter
simply by changing his specialisation.

Just wanted to add that I looked more carefully at the example NPCs in the book and one of them has 2 terms of Rogue (Enforcer) followed by 2 terms of Rogue (Thief), so, yeah, apparently you can switch specializations, and apparently there is no penalty for it.
