On the old Signal GK website, there was a character generator that allowed you to create Classic Traveller characters with the touch of a button. An incredibly useful tool that saved my butt on several occassions.

Is there any other character generators out there that anyone knows of?

Glad you like the apps!

Currently there is no deadline, but it wouldn't take very long, maybe a few weeks, to get char gen running. I am just waiting for errata, signs of life from the author and indication that T5 isn't a dead horse yet. I would really like to get the current apps to deliver plausible results first (and therefore I need the errata) before starting a new app. But char gen is definitely a TODO on my list.

I don't think the Signal GK character generator exists anymore. The site seems to be down. I found the page on the Wayback Machine, but it still doesn't seem to actually work.

I wrote myself a CT generator in .NET.

Although I coded in all the classic careers I could find, it's never been tested thoroughly enough to be something anyone else could use.
I use it for generating NPCs for my TravellerHero game, to give me a basic character sheet to convert into Hero.
I keep fixing bugs as I find them; one of these days I may consider it finished.

If anyone has a Traveller NPC generator looking for a host site, I am willing to donate part of my gigabytes of space to it.

This is for downloadable programs. Whatever you want added for a notice it is your work, how to use it, etc.

One that runs off a browser on my site would kick my bandwidth usage up too high, so no go for that.

Just PM me and I'll give you an email address to send it to, or somewhere I can download it from.

That was me, a long time ago - I'm glad it's still of some use. There were a couple of minor updates to keep a record of the creation process and to fix a bug with commissions for a couple of careers. The latest version is available at: https://app.box.com/shared/ytjkvx9r8z
