Civil War Era--What's Different in the 600s?

TL12, TL13 a bit later

Politics: Large solomani influence at court, Arch-dukes still a command level in the imperial navy and tasked to expand / consolidate their domains

Outlook - still expansionistic, Imperial settlers still expanding in gateway region and into sectors past the spinward marches. Solomani rim is still within the 3I, so Imperial settlement going on (creates what will become the other half of the solomani confederation.

Psionics - still legal, but mostly in the marches. Rather basic at this point - no real zho support at this point.

Scouts: No X-boat service.

Early 600s we get 2 frontier wars, Imperial settler thrown out of colonies past the marches, killing of the empress, multiple barracks emperors, eventual regency followed by a new imperial dynasty, and deminishing of solomani power at court, X-boat set up and power of arch-dukes reduced.

TL13 is two centuries old.

Politics: Large solomani influence at court, Arch-dukes still a command level in the imperial navy and tasked to expand / consolidate their domains.
Also, grand admirals are in charge of outlying regions of the Imperium (presumably answering to the archdukes). Grand Admiral of the Marches, Grand Admiral of the Rim, and probably others we haven't heard about.

Outlook - still expansionistic, Imperial settlers still expanding in gateway region and into sectors past the Spinward Marches. Solomani Rim is still within the 3I, so Imperial settlement going on (creates what will become the other half of the Solomani Confederation.
The buffer zone created by the Peace of Ftahalr extends all the way down into Magyar and Canopus [Assumption].

Scouts: No X-boat service.
Couriers limited to jump-4.

Yeah, my mistake on the TL, TL14 arrives sometime in the 700s.

Peace with the aslan on the rimward border, vargr campaigns over, pacification campaigns over.

Can anyone remember when the Dlan / Illeish revolt took place. Think it is about 600s ish.

Cheers

I gather the Beowulf class was already around at that point, but I imagine the Empress Marava wouldn't be, given the name.

There are two versions of the classic A2 Free Trader. The TL12 Jayhawk and a TL15 version (think this is the Empress Marava).

There is also a TL12 version of the Type M (Bastion class) vs the TL15 Version (Stellar Class).

There is also a TL10 version of the Type R (Petty Class)

(above from TNE). Biggest differences in all the above designs will be size of the power plant (bigger and more costly in the lower TL versions, which tends to reduce cargo hold capacity).

Other change is weapon effectiveness (High Guard has a increase at TL13+ for laser and missiles). Sand is unchanged (TL boosts at TL8 and TL10).

There will be lower tech versions of stuff like Tukera liners etc
